Housing Added To Yosemite Resort Plan

Housing for more than two dozen employees at Yosemite Rush Creek Resort was approved this week by the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors.

In a 4-to-1 vote, the board approved a plan that would add more than 12-thousand square feet for employee housing… to the original plan of 143 housing units.

Supervisor Mark Thornton was the only vote against the amended plan, on the grounds that the new plan will worsen the already-overworked emergency services in the southern part of the county.

But supporters said that the project would actually create badly-needed jobs and revenue.

A storage building and a 350-thousand gallon water tank are also being added to the developers´ plan, after this week´s vote.

The plan already included 37 guest rooms in the main lodge, 43 cabins, three smaller lodges, and its own wastewater treatment field.
