Update: Fire Along Parrotts Ferry Road

Update at 1:45 p.m.:  Two roadside vegetation fires in the 4500 block of Parrotts Ferry Road near Moaning Cave Road have been contained. CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff details that the sizes of the fires have not been reported back yet. She adds that firefighters will remain on scene mopping up for the next hour.

The CHP reports that the roadway has completely reopened after being down to one-lane traffic for about an hour.

Update at 1:15 p.m.:  CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff relays that there are two roadside fires in the 4500 block of Parrotts Ferry Road near Moaning Cave Road. Shoff updates that the flames forward progress has been stopped on both, but she did not have an exact size on either fire. Officers continue to direct traffic as the westbound lane is blocked in the area.

Original post at  12:27 p.m.: Calaveras County, CA — There is a small roadside vegetation fire reported in the 4500 block of Parrotts Ferry Road near Moaning Cave Road.

Firefighters are just arriving on scene and officials are directing traffic in the area. Be prepared for a minor traffic delay.
