Water District Eyes Budget

San Andreas, CA — Directors of the Calaveras County Water District will get a look at the 2006-07 proposed budget Wednesday.

Director of Finance Rudy Hernandez says the preliminary overall budget is a little over $18 million.

More than $5 million of that is for capital improvement projects. The money would pay for a portion of the Jenny Lind water treatment plant expansion, the Copper Cove tank pumping station, and Copper Cove pond expansion.

Also proposed is $700,000 in district capital expenditures such as new district vehicles and equipment.

The budget workshop will be held at 9 a.m. in the district boardroom on East St. Charles Street in San Andreas.
