Firefighters Continue To Battle Don Pedro Blaze

Lake Don Pedro, CA — Hundreds of firefighters continue to fight the blaze burning near Lake Don Pedro.

CDF and Tuolumne County Fire officials say the fire is now at least 60% contained. CDF Spokesperson Ed Allendorf says 852 firefighters have been involved in containing the 1,700 acre blaze which originated during the Monday noon hour when a camper hit a rock with a shovel.

The resulting spark ignited the initial 15 acre vegetation fire. No injuries have been reported and officials hope to have the fire completely contained by 6:00pm Thursday.
