Sonora, CA — A Sonora man is recovering from an overdose in the Tuolumne County Jail after being charged with lewd acts with a minor child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Officers from the Sonora Police Department responded to 29 year old Steven Campbell laying unconscious in the backyard of a residence.
While conducting an investigation, officers learned of a lewd act, which had occurred to a minor the day before.
The officer´s investigation revealed that Campbell had given a minor under the age of 16, an alcoholic beverage and then touched her inappropriately.
Campbell then became despondent over his actions and took a large amount of prescription medications.
