Cedar Ridge Woman Assaults Jail Deputy

Twain Harte, CA — A Cedar Ridge woman is facing several charges after assaulting a peace officer Monday night.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department says Deputy Mitch Brouillette was patrolling in the Twain Harte area when he was directed to Christina Lopriorie who was intoxicated and causing a disturbance.

Brouillette was able to restrain and handcuff Lopriorie while she screamed and tried to resist. When she got to the county jail, she continued to fight with deputies.

She tried to bite one deputy and kicked and punched at another until they were finally able to put her in a restraint cell.

One of the deputies suffered a knee injury during the incident. When Lopriorie sobered up she was released on her promise to appear in court to face her charges.
