The 40th Annual Fathers Day Fly-In A Hit

Columbia,CA–The 40th Annual Father´s Day Fly-In in Columbia may have left ears ringing to the sound of aircraft engines.

The annual event had something for everyone, especially dads. Saturday kicked off at 8:00a.m with airplane rides followed by several flight demonstrations and a tri-tip dinner. The event carried over to Sunday beginning with a father´s day pancake breakfast and then the ever popular flour bombing where pilots drop a paper bag filled with baking four at a target from 100 feet in the air.

Throughout the day families enjoyed displays of antique, classic and experimental aircrafts. Airplane rides were offered for a price with father´s receiving discounts in honor of the holiday. One navy veteran said he enjoyed the event very much because all of the memories it brought back.

Not only did the father´s enjoy the event, the fly-in had several activities for the young future pilots as well including a bounce tent and demonstrations of a CDF tanker demonstration and a race between a racecar and an airplane. Media Co-chair Joseph Day says they were extremely lucky to get some of the aircrafts to participate, and that the event was glorious with fantastic weather.
