College Students Roughing It To Learn The Forest

Sonora, CA — If you want to learn about managing and surveying wildlife in the Sierra Nevada, Columbia College has a class for you!

Organizers say the college class is taught by Stanislaus National Forest staff, and students are expected to live within the actual forest environment while learning.

The two short courses will be taught at the High Sierra Institute at histories Baker Station. The “American wilderness management and philosophy” class will run June 19th through the 23rd.

The other course, “Natural history and techniques or surveying the Sierra Nevada wildlife” will be taught from August 14th through the 17th. For more information contact Columbia College.
