Sonora, CA — The Highway Patrol is investigating a hit and run accident involving two bicyclists and a truck on Highway 49 Thursday evening.
CHP reports indicate the bike riders were traveling in a group southbound on Highway 49, north of Woods Creek Bridge.
As the shoulder narrowed, the riders slowed down and moved to the left, partially entering the southbound lane.
One of the bicyclists was hit by the right side mirror of a white 2000 Dodge pick-up truck.
Officials say when the rider went down; he hit the other rider next to him. At this point it is unknown if the driver of the truck is aware that the mirror hit the bicyclist.
