Damage To Power Pole Results In DUI Charges

Sonora, CA — A Jamestown man is facing DUI charges after hitting a PG&E power pole Wednesday evening.

The Sonora Police Department says officers responded to the corner of Washington Street and Calaveras Street for an injury accident at 7:20pm.

Reports indicate they found 21-year-old Matthew Donovan´s vehicle had broken off a power pole and hit some large rocks in the area.

Donovan was the only person in the vehicle and was arrested at the scene. Police say he was taken to Tuolumne General Hospital for treatment and then booked for DUI.
