Calaveras Looks For Road Money

San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County will hire a consultant to find money for road projects.

The Board of Supervisors held a study session on the Road Impact Mitigation Fee Program Monday.

The program identifies a series of needed road improvement projects throughout the county´s regional road system. The projects total $157 million. $38 million of that will be paid for by new development.

The rest are existing deficiencies to which no funding source has been found.

The money could come from a gas, sales, transit occupancy or parcel tax.

The consultant will analyze those options and more and survey public opinion.
