DUI Checkpoint Results In Arrests Over The Weekend

Jamestown, CA — Out of more than 600 vehicles stopped over the weekend at a DUI checkpoint on Highway 49, only two people were arrested for driving under the influence.

The California Highway Patrol worked in conjunction with the Sonora Police Department, and although there were only two arrests, 13 citations were issued.

The officers were stationed on Highway 49 east of Fifth Avenue in Jamestown for six hours Saturday night into Sunday. More checkpoints are planned for throughout the summer.
