Excessive Speed On Slippery Road Blamed For Rollover Accident

Tuolumne, CA — The California Highway Patrol says a combination of rain, snow, and speed caused a vehicle to overturn Saturday.

Reports indicate 53-year-old Barbara Criswell of Modesto was driving westbound on Tuolumne Road at a speed that was unsafe for the wet and slippery conditions.

CHP officers say Criswell´s Chevrolet lost traction and spun into the oncoming lane, blocking the path of 60-year-old Russell Tait Jr. The two vehicles collided and Criswell´s rolled over at least once.

Tait suffered moderate injuries, however reports indicate he chose to seek his own aid. The CHP is warning motorists that the posted speed limit is not always safe in inclement weather.
