Sonora, CA — A Mother Lode woman can focus her energy on fighting cancer rather than paying bills after more than $10,000 was raised Friday night.
36-year-old Amy Gast was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin´s Lymphoma in January 2004. Her sister in law, Wendy Gast says Amy just completed a stem cell transplant and her medical and transportation expenses are tremendous.
Wendy, along with other friends and family organized a fundraiser at the Elks Lodge in Sonora and with the help of the community almost sold out the event. Gast says the money will relieve all of Amy´s mental anguish and help her continue with treatment.
