New Grading And Drainage Ordinance In Calaveras County

San Andreas, Ca — Beginning Thursday, January 3rd all new development projects will be subject to a local “Grading and Drainage Ordinance” that has been adopted by the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors.

Under the new rules, any project involving earthmoving in excess of 50 cubic yards will need to get a grading permit from the County Department of Public Works. All permitted projects will be required to implement “best management practices” to protect public health and safety, and the environment.

Failure to abide by the new rules will subject property owners to work delays and penalties of up to $10,000 per day. For more information, you can contact the Public Works Department at 209-754-6416.
