CHP Will Begin Maximum Enforcement Period Wednesday

Sonora, Ca — Beginning at 6pm Wednesday night and continuing through late Sunday, the California Highway Patrol will have every available officer on the road.

Last year during the Thanksgiving Maximum Enforcement Period, 42 people were fatally injured as a result of accidents in California.

Officer Tom Wills says the CHP will be looking for drivers under the influence and those violating the seatbelt law. Over half of the 42 killed last year were not wearing a seatbelt.
