CHP’s Remmel Returns To Full Time Duty

Jamestown, CA — CHP Officer Mike Remmel has returned to full time duty.

According to CHP Spokesman Tom Wills Remmel has passed all 14 tests needed to qualify for full time work.

Rather than returning to active patrol duty, Remmel has been assigned to the Fresno CHP office in the areas of recruitment and the compilation of background information. Although assigned to Fresno, Remmel will continue to physically work out of the Jamestown office and his home in covering Tuolumne and Mariposa counties.

Remmel was struck by a pickup truck while making a routine stop on Hwy 49 and Parrotts Ferry Rd. January 10, 2006. He lost a portion of both his legs.
