Update: Structure Fire In Sonora

Update at 6:55am (11/21/19): The American Red Cross reports that it responded last night to help five impacted families.

Update at 5:10 p.m.: Firefighters have contained the Chukar Fire at the Quail Hallow Apartments in the 12700 block of Chukar Circle near Grouse Way in the vicinity of Greenley Road, according to CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore. The fire ignited in the bedroom of an apartment in a building that houses around eight units. It is unclear at this time whether any of those apartments were damaged. Residents in that building were evacuated. There is still no word as to whether anyone was inside the apartment when the fire started. Crews will remain on scene mopping up for the next couple of hours. Kilgore relays that what sparked the blaze is under investigation.

Update at 4:45 p.m.: Firefighters are working aggressively to knock down a fire at the Quail Hallow Apartments in the 12700 block of Chukar Circle near Grouse Way in the vicinity of Greenley Road. CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore is on the scene and tells Clarke Broadcasting that the flames have been isolated to the one building, which has about eight units. When firefighters arrived on the scene the apartment was fully engulfed in flames. Residents in the units around the fire have been evacuated. There remains no information as to whether anyone was inside the apartment when the blaze ignited, but it is reported to have started in a bedroom.

Original post at 4:15 p.m.: Sonora, CA — Firefighters are heading to a report of a structure fire in Sonora.

It is in the Quail Hallow Apartments in the 12700 block of Chukar Circle near Grouse Way in the vicinity of Greenley Road. Reports are that the fire started in the bedroom of an apartment, which is fully engulfed in flames. There is no word at this time whether anyone was in the apartment. Nearby residents have been evacuated.
