Agencies Work To Resolve Cosgrove Creek Issues

San Andreas, CA — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is studying the flooding issues in and around Cosgrove Creek and may become the lead agency on a potential solution.

Cosgrove Creek is located in Valley Springs and is known to flood during heavy rainfall.

The Board of Supervisors Tuesday signed off on an agreement with the Calaveras County Water District in regards to the project.

Documents say the Army Corps did an assessment and determined there is federal interest in the project.

The Corps is moving forward with the next step, which is a feasibility phase study. This phase requires a local sponsor, which will be the county with technical assistance from the water district.
