Columbia, Ca — According to the CHP, one person has died following a single vehicle accident near Columbia this afternoon.
Shortly after one o´clock, a vehicle drove off an 150 foot embankment while traveling on Italian Bar Rd. The name of the victim has not been released.
According to Officer Brad Schultz, a second passenger received head injuries, but was communicating with onsite personnel.
The accident caused a one half acre vegetation fire that has now been contained according to CAL Fire. Italian Bar Rd. will remain closed to traffic this afternoon.
