Body Of Missing 16-Year-Old Girl Discovered By Hiker

Sonora, Ca — This past May, 16-year-old Colleen Lenoir went missing after being swept up by currents in the Stanislaus River.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department received a lead in the case yesterday at 8:45am.We received a call from a hiker in the area of the Stanislaus River where Colleen Lenoir was last seen,” says Lt. Dan Bressler.The caller reported seeing the body of a person that had surfaced in the river in that area.”

Search and rescue units responded, and recovered the body of a person matching Colleen´s description. The Sheriff´s Department has notified the family, and they are making the appropriate arrangements.
