Eastern Sierra Earthquake Felt In Mother Lode

Mammoth Lakes, Ca — A 4.6 magnitude earthquake, with an epicenter nine miles southeast of Mammoth Lakes in Mono County, could be felt in portions of the Mother Lode early this morning.

According to the US Geological Survey, it struck at 12:23am and had a depth of 8.8 miles . It was preceded by a 3.6 magnitude quake, and several aftershocks followed over the next hour.
