City, County Hash Out Old Agreement

San Andreas, CA — It seems a consensus has been reached on canceling a 14-year old revenue agreement between the City of Angels Camp and Calaveras County.

City and county staff brought forward the proposal to the Board of Supervisors Tuesday.

Staff says the agreement has caused a negative relationship between the two for sometime. Once the cancellation is approved, the county would lose $85,000 in city sales tax.

The board agreed to pursue the cancellation if the city starts to pay for dispatch services and discusses public facilities fees, for example the jail.

The city meets tonight to discuss the agreement.
