Copperopolis, CA — Planning for the retirement of its current chief in 2008, the Copperopolis Fire Protection District is hiring one of its own to take his place.
The district recently announced that Captain Tony Powers will take over for Chief Dennis Powers when he retires next January.
Powers is a 17-year veteran with the district, beginning as a cadet.
District directors say they look forward to working with Powers and are confident in his ability to lead the organization.
