S.P.D. Arrests Jamestown Pair On Multiple Charges

Sonora, CA — 46 year old John Canyon of Jamestown was arrested by Sonora Police on multiple charges early Tuesday afternoon.

A motorist reported that Canyon had passed his vehicle over a solid double yellow line in the Jamestown area while traveling approximately 25mph in excess of the posted speed limit.

Sonora Police located Canyon´s vehicle within the city limits and conducted an enforcement stop. Canyon was accompanied by 45 year old Susan Miller also of Jamestown.

Both Canyon and Miller were determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance believed to be methamphetamine. During an arrest search hydrocodone was located in Miller´s purse for which she had no prescription. Miller also had two marijuana cigarettes in her possession.

Canyon was booked into the county jail for driving under the influence, being under the influence of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving.

Miller was booked for possession of a controlled substance, transporting a controlled substance, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
