Belmont Man Seriously Injured In Snowmobile Accident

Lake Alpine, CA — A snowmobile rider from Belmont was seriously injured Saturday after being thrown from his vehicle.

The CHP says 29-year old Aaron Barkett was driving on the groomed snow trail of Highway 4 near Lake Alpine when he ran off the roadway due to his excessive speed.

After climbing an embankment, the vehicle was launched 24 feet before hitting a boulder, a tree then a second set of boulders.

Barkett had major injuries and was flown by helicopter to Doctor´s Medical Center in Modesto where he listed in serious condition.
