Sonora City Council To Hear Lowe’s Update

Sonora, CA — The Sonora City Council will hear in a closed session this evening an update regarding the Lowe´s Home Improvement project.

City Attorney Richard Matranga will spell out claims put forth by both sides of the issue. In August Judge James A. Boscoe ruled in favor of the city and the developer, California Gold Development of Sonora, that all environmental regulations had been met.

The Citizens For Responsible Growth, headed up by Lisa Vaughn, then filed an appeal with the Fifth District Court of Appeals in Fresno. The city and California Gold have until March 29th to file their briefs in response to that appeal.

The Lowe´s Center would be build west of Old Ward´s Ferry Rd. south of Sanguinetti Loop.
