USFS Gets New Chief

Washington, DC — The U.S. Department of Agriculture has named a new chief for the U.S. Forest Service.

Abigail Kimbell will serve as the 16th chief of the Forest Service, succeeding Chief Dale Bosworth who will retire February 2.

Kimbell began her Forest Service career as a seasonal worker and moved her way up through the ranks.

Kimbell´s latest assignment was as Regional Forester for the Northern Region in Missoula, Montana.

As Chief, Kimbell will oversee more than 30,000 employees and a $4 billion budget.
