Christmas Day Wet Weather

Sacramento, CA — Snowfall has arrived in time for Christmas in many areas across the region, but it could cause a headache for travelers.

The National Weather Services says that a Winter Storm Warning will remain in effect until six o´clock tonight for the Sierra Nevada.

Motorists are being advised to travel with caution throughout the day, and carry extra clothes, a flashlight and emergency supplies.

Snow levels could dip down to around 1,500 ft. by later this morning. Three to five inches of snowfall are possible above 2,000 ft. and up to 10 inches around 3,000 ft.

The highest elevations across the Sierra could receive over two ft. of new snow.
