Thornton And Others Recognized For Service

Sonora, CA — Fourth District Tuolumne County Supervisor Mark Thornton was given a proclamation today for his 12 years of service as a Supervisor and nearly 23 years of overall service to the County.

Thornton joked that when he woke up this morning he had to deal with snow and ice in the driveway, the closure of Old Priest Grade, and arriving to one of the largest work packets that he has seen in his 12 years as a Supervisor. ?I´m kind of thinking that those are all subtle signs that it is great that I am moving on,? said Thornton.

At today´s weekly meeting, the Supervisors also took time to recognize retiring Land Surveyor Cyrus Hoblitt for his 38-years of service, Chief Probation Officer Shirlee Juhl for 31-years and Assistant Chief Probation Officer Leanna Salazar for 23-years.
