Sonora Hosts Dancing With the Tuolumne County Stars

Sonora, CA — Saturday evening before a sellout crowd at the John Muir Building at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds, the YES (Youth Enrichment Services) Partnership and Friday Night Live presented the first annual Dancing With The Tuolumne County Stars.

20 couples danced either the Tango or the Cha Cha in an effort to raise funds for the YES Partnership.

Rich and Ralene Juarez captured first place in the Tango competition. They were followed by second and third place award winners George and Leticia Sandoval and Michael and Evelyn Mainguth respectively.

Leading the way for the Cha Cha was Miguel and Jenny Nieves. Finisheing second was Tom and Loree Wills. The third place award went to Barry and Lynda Dugan.

The Best Costume Award went to Rich and Ralene Juarez while Tuolumne County Sheriff Jim Mele and his wife Sharon captured the Audience Choice Award.

Ian Nandhra and Jolene Alquist were the dance instructors for all 20 couples entered in the competition.

Celeste Boyd, Charlene Dambacher, Linda DuTemple, George Segarini and Jim Johnson served as judges.
