Golden State Cellular Sends COW To Telegraph Fire

Jamestown, CA — Upon the request of CAL Fire Golden State Cellular is sending a COW (cell on wheels) to aid the communications effort at the 27,000 acre Telegraph Fire in Mariposa County.

Darrell Slocum of Golden State Cellular expectes the COW unit to be up and running this afternoon. It will be located at the Smith Peak Lookout Station.

Golden State Cellular has experienced problems of its own thanks to the Telegraph Fire. The cell site at Midpines was compromised and will need to be replaced. That site was not being used to any degree because residents have been evacuated.

Slocum added that he is very thankful that fire crews were able to prevent any damage to Golden State Cellular´s Mt. Bullion site.
