Cause Of Fire Near New Melones Under Investigation: Size Now Estimated At 30 Acres

Jamestown, Ca — CAL Fire Investigator Rommie Jones says that the French Flat Rd. and Williamson Rd. vegetation fire is now estimated at 30 acres in size.

At least one structure has been lost. Deputies with the Sheriff´s Office are on scene in case officials feel the need to call for evacuations.

Officials have not been able to determine the cause of the fire at this time.

Air resources have been called in from outside the region. The fire started shortly after two o´clock.
