Firefighters Continue Assault On Lightning Caused Fires

Sacramento, CA — Firefighters throughout northern California are continuing in their efforts to douse the lightning caused fires of the weekend of June 21-22.

As of 2100 hours, Monday, June 30 1,459 fires had burned 416,272 acres.

Personnel committed numbered 19,134. Resources committed included 571 crews, 1,496 engines, 359 dozers, 400 water tenders, 100 helicopters and numerous air tankers.

Structures destroyed: 29 residences, one commercial and 20 outbuildings. Structures treatened: 8,638 residences, 154 commercial and 3,035 outbuildings.
