Power Lost Following Vehicle Collision

Sonora, CA — Power was lost for many P.G.& E. customers Monday afternoon when 39 year old Melody Jo Timmons of Tuolumne failed to negotiate a turn on Yosemite Rd. near Woodham Carne Rd. and crashed into a P.G.& E. power pole.

According to CHP Officer Tom Wills, Timmons was traveling at an excessive rate of speed in the 40mph zone when she collided with the pole.

Timmons was wearing her seatbelt. She was not injured. Wills added that alcohol was not a contributing factor to the accident.

Wills stated that Timmons could be cited. She will have one point added to her driving record, and she will be responsible for the damage to P.G.& E. equipment.
