Alfalfa Sprouts Pulled Due To Salmonella Poisoning

Sonora, CA — Always Fresh, Alfa One and Salad Cosmo Alfalfa sprouts have been pulled from produce departments on the west coast according to the California Department of Public Health due to the detection of salmonella poisoning.

Tuolumne County Health Officer Dr. Todd Stolp says that salmonella poisoning can potentially cause serious illness.

Salad Cosmo was distributed to SaveMart supermarkets while Always Fresh and Alfa One have been found at Trader Joe´s.

Salad Cosmo is produced by Salad Cosmo USA Coorporation of Dixon, CA while Always Fresh and Alfa One are produced by J.H. Caldwell and Sons, Inc. of Maywood, CA.

To date no illnesses have been reported.
