Cogdill Hopes Water Vote Will Come Soon

Sacramento, CA — State Senator Dave Cogdill is optimistic that a comprehensive water package will be passed by the Senate and Assembly within the next week.

"There’s been a whole new front opened in the debate on Delta sustainability and governance, and this has evolved into discussions about water rights, illegal diversions, groundwater monitoring and a number of other things," says Cogdill. "I think that it is healthy and good that we are having those debates, and hopefully we can come up with legislation that is historic and starts us down the right path to better managing water in the state of California."

The final package is expected to include additional above ground water storage and an increased call for conservation.
