Warden Selected For Sierra Conservation Center

Jamestown, CA — Frank Chavez will become the fulltime Warden at the Sierra Conservation Center effective November 2nd.

Chavez is currently the Chief Deputy Warden at S.C.C. and has worked in the Department of Corrections since 1974.

Chavez started at S.C.C. in March of 1997 as a Correctional Administrator. He briefly retired in 2007 and then returned to become the Chief Deputy Warden.

Chavez replaces Ivan Clay who retired this past August. The current interim Warden, Tom Virga, will move back over to the California State Prison in Sacramento to become the Chief Deputy Warden.
