S.R.M.C. To Introduce Hyperbaric Wound Care Center

Sonora, CA — Sonora Regional Medical Center will be introducing its new Center for Hyperbaric Wound Care next month.

The state-of-the-art outpatient center to be located at the Sonora Regional Imaging Center at 12811 Covey Circle will offer advanced technologies and proven clinical protocols for the treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds.

Approximately seven million people suffer from chronic, non-healing wounds nationally, a serious disorder that can lead to amputation of limbs and dramatically impaired quality of life.

Associated with inadequate circulation, poorly functioning veins and immobility, non-healing wounds occur most frequently in the elderly and in people with diabetes. These are populations that are sharply rising as the national ages and chronic diseases increase.

From S.R.M.C. President/CEO Jeff Eller, “Helping patients who suffer from chronic, non-healing wounds, lead more active lives is part of the mission of Sonora Regional Medical Center. We are thrilled this new service will allow us to continue to address the health care needs of the Mother Lode.”

Patients can be referred to the Center for Hyperbaric Wound Care by their physician. Appointments can be made by calling (209) 536-5196.

An “open to the public” ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1 from 5:30 to 7:30pm.
