Sonora, CA — While rumors have circulated that an evacuation order has been issued for the Mt. Knight subdivision nothing could be further from the truth.
According to Pat Kaunert from the Stanislaus National Forest absolutely no evacuation order has been issued by any agency. A number of residents have voluntarily left the subdivision.
Kaunert also added that high tech is coming to the firefighting effort with the addition of a Cobra helicopter which will be able to use infrared equipment to get a better fix on the exact acreage burned.
