Sonora Area Foundation To Distribute May SOS Funds

Sonora, CA — This evening at Courthouse Park at 5:30 the Sonora Area Foundation will distribute checke to three local non-profit agencies … the result of the Tuolumne May SOS Campaign.

S.A.F. CEO Mark Bergstrom and his Board of Directors will present checks to Amador Tuolumne County Action Agency ($384,400), Sierra Senior Providers ($86,000) and Interfaith ($23,840).

Those checks total $494,240. $23,000 will be placed in a contingency fund to be used by any of the three agencies for unanticipated needs during the coming year. 

The total amount raised by the community was $267,240 of which $250,000 was matched by S.A.F.

Bergstrom commented, “It couldn’t have come at a better time because there is such a big, critical need out there for food, shelter and wood for the upcoming winter. The citizens of Tuolumne County are to be congratulated for coming forth and stepping up to the plate in such an astonishing way.”
