Summer Jobs Available For Young Adults

Sonora-San Andreas, CA — Thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, summer employment is now available for young adults in the Mother Lode.

Work that is available includes custodial, clerical, animal care and even law enforcement through both the Sonora Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office.

You must be between the ages of 16-24 to qualify for the program. No experience is necessary. Tuolumne County Coordinator Cathy Harper from Mother Lode Job Connection notes that, “It’s a great opportunity for young people to get some great training and possibly discover a career.”

Calaveras County Coordinator Rue Timmons comments that, “There is absolutely no expense incurred by the employer. The wages are paid by funding from the ARRA.”

For Tuolumne County interested employers, young adults and information on basic qualifications contact the Mother Lode Job Connection at (209) 588-1150. For Calaveras County the number is (209) 754-4242.
