Columbia’s Classified Senate Considered A Model For The State

Columbia, CA — Columbia College’s Classified Senate has been named a “Model Classified Senate.”

The California Community Colleges Classified Senate gives the honor to those that define the standard of staff participation, encourage staff leaders to become stronger and offer reference to novice groups seeking organizational revitalization.

College President Dr. Joan Smith says, “Columbia College is most grateful for all the exemplary work on the part of our classified senate and classified employees. This recognition defines the standard of staff participation within our learning environment at Columbia College, which is a great benefit to our students.”

Columbia was recognized at a dinner presentation earlier this month at the Granlibakken Conference Center in Tahoe City.
