Calaveras Transit Raises Fees

San Andreas, CA — Calaveras Transit will be raising fees and eliminating routes because of a $400,000 shortfall in funding.

California’s budget approved on February 19th eliminated the State Transit Assistance Fund for the next five years, requiring local public transit agencies to reduce their budgets.

Calaveras Transit regular monthly passes will increase from $45 to $60. One way regular tickets will go up from $1.50 to $2.00. All day passes will remain at $4.00.

Calaveras Transit will eliminate service to Railroad Flat, Lodi and Bear Valley.

Transportation Planner Julie Azarvand says the changes will go into effect on July 1st.
