Motorcycle Ride Honors Sgt. Bobby Rapp

Jamestown, CA — An estimated 370 motorcycles left Jamestown Saturday morning for the 1st annual Sgt. Bobby Rapp Memorial Scholarship Motorcycle Run.

The event was organized by the Vietnam Veterans of America Post 391, and the proceeds benefit a scholarship fund for graduating Tuolumne County students.

“The attitude of the riders has been great,” says Rick Clement, VVA Post 391 member. “They are all great participants.”

The ride began at 10:30am and traveled up to Angels Camp and then back to Jamestown. Activities and live music were set up in the downtown area. After the ride concluded a “Quilt of Valor” was presented to Sgt. Rapp’s parents, Ted and Jennifer.

The quilts are produced by members of a nationwide foundation and donated to wounded war heroes and their families.
