Large Turnout At Murphys Irish Day

Murphys, CA — Crowds lined Main St. in Murphys Saturday for the annual Irish Day festival.

"The most important thing is that we had glorious weather,” says Bob Reagan, one of the event organizers. “You can tell by the large crowd, that this makes a big difference.”

Rainfall arrived just as the event was concluding, but the sunshine was out for most of the day.

The event included the traditional parade, street fair, live music and other festive Irish activities.

“I am happy to see this many people around town spending money,” says Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce Director Diane Gray. “People are carrying bags, everybody’s eating, I’m thrilled.”

Murphys Irish Day is put on by the Murphys Business Association.
