State Officials Project $8 Billion Deficit

Sacramento, CA — The California Legislative Analyst’s Office is projecting that the new state budget will fall short of closing the deficit by $8 billion.

A report states that California’s economic and revenue outlook continues to deteriorate. If measures that are up for vote during a May special election are not approved, it could add an additional $6 billion to that number.
