Jamestown, CA — Furloughs at a state prison are just a little bit different than a Department of Motor Vehicles office because you just can’t let everybody go home at once.
Lt. Jimmy Hurtado states that employees will have a flexible furlough program at the 4,100 inmate facility on O’Byrnes Ferry Rd. rather than the mandated first and third Fridays being adhered to by the majority of state employees.
Employees will ask their supervisor for time off and they will be granted such if there are not an excess of requests for that same date.
A program for officer furloughs has yet to be completed.
