Update: Fire In Farmington Along North Waverly Road

Update at 6:30 a.m.:  CAL Fire reports that the blaze that was burning along North Waverly Road near East Copperopolis Road in the Farmington area has been extinguished. The flames were contained at a quarter acre. No structures were threatened. A small crew will remain on scene for the next hour mopping up. What sparked the blaze is under investigation.

Original post at 5:55 a.m.: Farmington, CA — If you hear planes flying overhead that is Columbia aircraft along with ground crews heading to assist with a vegetation fire in San Joaquin County.

CAL Fire reports that the fire is a quarter acre in size and the flames are moving at a slow rate of spread. The blaze is in the Farmington area burning along North Waverly Road near East Copperopolis Road. There is no were on whether any structures are threatened. We’ll have updates as soon as more information comes into the newsroom.
