California Drivers Consuming More Gasoline

Sacramento, CA — California’s gasoline consumption increased during the third quarter of 2010.


The State Board of Equalization reports that Californians consumed 3.8 billion gallons of gas during the quarter, compared to 3.77 billion during the same period in 2009. The average price of gas in the state during the third quarter of this year was $3.14, compared to $3.05 in 2009. The BOE is able to monitor gas sales through tax receipts paid by fuel distributors.
